Registration is now open for the 2024-2025 Jr. Statesmen tackle football season. We are looking for all interested players that will be entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade. The players will be coached by adults who are USA Heads Up football certified as well as some of our varsity football players.
Our mission is to:
1) teach the players a safer way of playing football from what is learned through the USA football certification
2) build friendships amongst the athletes that they can carry with them off the field
3) build/develop each athlete's football fundamental skills and techniques
4) prepare them to be successful once they join our high school football program
5) HAVE FUN PLAYING A TEAM SPORT while competing against other local middle school programs.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have.
Building Champions - one player at a time!
JUNIOR STATESMEN FOOTBALL CLUB 2024-2025
PROGRAM: The Junior Statesmen Football Club is a non- profit organization run as a private organization unrelated to, but hopefully to the future benefit of Webster Groves High School Football Team. The Jr. Statesmen Football Club serves as a feeder system for the Webster Groves High School tackle football program.
PARTICIPANTS: Boys who will be in the 6th , 7th, and 8th grades for the 2023-2024 school year presently in the WGSD, or residing in the attendance area and planning to attend Webster Groves High School.
REGISTRATION: 1) Register by mail beginning today, 2) At any practice. Please see attached registration form and return ASAP. We don’t make ‘cuts’, but we do ‘cut-off’ registration at team limit.
FEES: A $300.00 participation fee per player will be collected at registration; a $150.00 separate equipment deposit will be collected at the time of equipment checkout and held pending return of all equipment at the conclusion of the season. We provide certified helmets, shoulder pads, practice uniforms and game jersey. Parents are responsible for purchasing black padded pants for games.
INSURANCE: Each player must provide a “proof of insurance” prior to participation in the program. JSFC does not provide player insurance of any kind.
PHYSICALS: A physical and/or medical release must be turned in prior to any player being allowed to practice. Wording from doctor must indicate – “physically fit to play contact sports – or -- tackle football.”
COACHES: Volunteer coaches for the program are selected by and under the supervision of the JSFC who receive coaching certificates upon completion of the USA Heads Up football courses.
PHILOSOPHY: To teach the same individual skills and team concepts as those employed in the Webster
Groves High School Football Program; each player will learn at least one offensive and one defensive position, as well as special teams.
